IIT Kanpur has officially launched the website for JEE Advanced 2025, revealing that the syllabus remains unchanged from previous years. JEE Advanced 2025 will consist of two mandatory papers covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, each lasting three hours and designed to assess candidates’ comprehension, reasoning, and analytical skills.

New Eligibility Criteria and Attempt Limit
A major update for JEE Advanced 2025 is the change in the number of allowed attempts. Candidates can now attempt the exam up to three times within three consecutive years, an increase from the previous limit of two attempts in two years. Other eligibility criteria remain unchanged, including the requirement to be among the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE (Main) 2025.
Category-Wise Reservation and Age Criteria
The reservation distribution is 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 40.5% OPEN. Additionally, each category has a 5% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates. Candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2000, with a five-year age relaxation for SC, ST, and PwD applicants.
Academic Requirements and IIT Admission Rules
To be eligible, candidates must have completed their Class XII exams in either 2023, 2024, or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates who have previously been admitted to any IIT program (except preparatory courses) are not eligible. Those who joined a preparatory course in 2024 may appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
